About Me

I have been a counsellor/psychotherapist for over twenty years helping both couples and individual clients.  I now run my own practice but I trained and worked with Relate – the national relationships agency – then, after further training, worked as a student counsellor for five leading London and Home County Universities as well as working with NHS patients.

My initial training was Integrative but, in 2004, I completed a 3 year Diploma and M.Sc in Psychodynamic Counselling at Birkbeck College, University of London.  I have since undertaken further trainings, including a certificate in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Mindfulness awareness.  All this experience I bring to my work with clients in what ever way seems most useful.

Before training as a counsellor/psychotherapist, I lived and worked overseas in Africa and Asia for several years. This has given me an understanding of cultural differences and an insight into the challenges of living in a country away from home – both of which has helped my work as a counsellor/psychotherapist in this cosmopolitan city of London.

I am an Accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and abide by their code of ethics and confidentiality.  I have monthly supervision and undertake continual professional development training, as required by my professional body.
